We would like to take this opportunity to simply say thank you to the many hundreds of people who voted for us on May 7th in the elections to High Peak Borough Council.
But we also want to say to all residents of Howard Town, irrespective of how you voted or if you didn’t vote, that we have been given a great responsibility in being elected to serve as your councillors and we consider it a privilege to serve the people of Glossop.
If you would like to meet us and talk about a problem you think either of us can help with, we will be at our regular surgery in the Market Arcade every last Saturday in the month, except December. Or you can contact us direct by phone or email by getting our details from the Council website.
We look forward to meeting you.
Godfrey Claff and Damien Greenhalgh
Borough Councillors for Howard Town Ward
Today I created a group of Facebook to seek people’s support to elect Garry and I to the two council seats in Old Glossop Ward which we will be campaigning for in the Borough Election in May 2011, this can be access here
Today at a meeting of Glossopdale Labour Party I, along with Garry Parvin, was selected to stand as the Labour Candidate for the Old Glossop Ward of High Peak Borough election in May next year.
The process of being named one of the two final candidates involved being selected by the local Glossopdale Party and the High Peak Party as a whole, through a series of interviews and votes.
I’m very grateful to Glossopdale Labour members for selecting me and very excited to get campaigning to help minimise the effects of cuts on essential service for the people of Old Glossop. Both Garry and I feel it is about time someone spoke up in Old Glossop against the poor decisions of the Conservative controlled Borough Council (and County Council).
If you’re a Old Glossop ward resident I want to hear about your priorities for your area – if you’ve got an issue you would like to bring up then please email me on email@example.com. You can also find me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter at twitter.com/damientg.
